Individual counseling is available for those looking for one-on-one attention to help with a problem. Typically, I will use strategies that involve talk and play with children. When the focus is on a child or adolescent, I will meet most often with them. I will also regularly meet with the parents/caregivers, both with and without the child, to help ensure lasting change.
I have experience working with children of all ages, from young toddlers through young adults. I have specialized training for working with children who happen to have developmental disabilities as well as emotional or behavioral difficulties. Treatment is tailored to meet each client’s needs at their stage of development.
Individual counseling can also be with the parent, to better equip them to meet a child’s complex mental health needs or to focus on the parent’s mental health needs as it relates to parenting and caregiving.
The focus of my practice is in helping those with anxiety, mood difficulties, traumatic stress (including traumatic grief), and life transitions.
