While I specialize in helping children and adolescents, I will consider working directly with adults. A lot of research and treatment for children started out as extensions from what works with adults with emotional and behavioral health difficulties. Therefore, I was absolutely trained to competence in working with adults as well.
Issues that fit within my areas of expertise for adults include difficulties with anxiety, trauma, mood swings, and transitioning to adult independence. Often, I am a good fit for those who find themselves stressed due to their relationships with their children, and for those who are struggling with problems that started in childhood. While I am the kind of therapist that will remain more present-focused, my specialized knowledge of child development often adds the perspective needed to understand and move forward with making changes and finding solutions.
